About Food With Jung
Hi there! Welcome to FOOD WITH JUNG. My name is Rachel, and I was born and raised in California as a Korean American. I love to cook, eat, and watch family and friends express their love for food.
Why “Food With Jung”?
“Jung” is my surname, but this word also holds a special connotation for Koreans. This word is indefinable in English as it expresses a special type of connection that only grows stronger and stronger in our culture. “Jung” is the umbrella for love, empathy, heart, and passion all in one word — something we all need in a world that is gradually becoming fragmented.
I am currently a teacher in Los Angeles County. The past two years during the pandemic were by far the most difficult yet eye-opening experience I have ever had as an educator. Cooking and tasting foods from different cultures helps me to escape from all of the craziness, which led me to spread “Jung” through this blog!
